Wi-Fi giveaway: A dozen mylos and a MacBook

Wi-Fi on the train trackHow do you photograph Wi-Fi? I tried, a few years ago, when I did an OC road trip visiting cool local hot spots. If you can figure this out and take a cool photo of municipal Wi-Fi in your city, you could some cool stuff, including an Apple 17-inch MacBook Pro.

The contest is sponsored by Tropos Networks, the Sunnyvale company that builds equipment used in many of these citywide Wi-Fi hot spots.

What they’re looking for are photos of the “coolest use of citywide Wi-Fi service.” Submit your entry by April 12 and judges will pick 12 semi-finalists. Each of the 12 wins a Sony mylo personal communicator device.

Then people from all over can vote on their favorite. The one with the most votes wins the MacBook, to be announced May 1.
