I’m not really into printing out photos – or making albums. But after a trip or special event, so many other people want to see the collection and photo books are truly a nice way to remember a special occasion and an easy gift. But I haven’t wanted to spend $20 to $30 on a 20-page album, especially when I’m doing most of the work. Then I discovered BookSmart from Blurb, a San Francisco company. The software is free and works with Macs and PC. I created an 80-page hard-back photo book for $35. And if I been even more ambitious, I could have added 40 more color pages for another $3!!

Lots of other nice perks with Blurb too. It’ll slurp your blog and turn it into a book. It recognizes iPhoto albums without needing to import them. And you can pick several different sizes, templates, backgrounds, etc. so easily. Plus, it’s cheap, cheap.

So, I turned my experience into a review. Check it out HERE. Also, if you have a favorite online photo-book service, tell me what makes it so great in a comment below. Thanks!
