Kingston Technology in Fountain Valley is expanding its line of memory-card products by appealing to the very specific audience of college jocks and their fan clubs. New microSD memory cards (the tiny ones that fit in cell phones) are now available preloaded with school fight songs, logo wall papers and other school-spirited digital content.

Included in each ‘Collegiate’ card is a choice of one ring tone or wallpaper for a mobile phone and — ahh here must be why the schools joined in — the opportunity to purchase additional ring tones, wallpapers, etc. Prices are $35 for the 2 GB card and $20 for the 1 GB version.
