Enough with SecondLife and all the corporations that paid real money for virtual real estate. OC’s own There.com now has it’s own corporate sponsor.
Scion has launched Club Scion inside There.com, the virtual world run by Laguna Beach’s Makena Technologies.
The club includes dance floors, hot tubs and transparent walkways. Plus, there’s “unique lighting and fog effects” for that nightclub ambiance.
And, of course, there are the cars. Giant models of the Scion xA, xB and tC car are there for virtual residents to peek inside. Makena partnered with virtual design studio San Antonio, Texas’ Metaversatility to create Club Scion. Can you believe there are companies like Metaversatility whose business is to develop virtual worlds?

If it sounds strange to have your own computerized character exploring an Internet-only world and interacting with other cartoony characters, it is. But have you tried it? There.com’s basic membership is free.
