Verizon Wireless touts the Juke phone as “America’s first-ever flick phone.” I haven’t gotten my hands on one, but does this mean you flick it open like you flick a bug off your arm?
Says Verizon: “The ‘Juke’ snaps open with the flick of a thumb…”
The new Juke, apparently the Samsung U470, is short for jukebox because it plays music too. Also nice, it includes 2 GBs of internal storage. But the key feature is its size: It’s 1-inch wide, 0.75-inch deep and 3.75-inches high. It’s the smallest phone Verizon has ever carried.
Also has Bluetooth (for headset/speaker), camera with night-shot setting and available in blue, red and teal.
There’s more…
Verizon is also introducing today the LG Voyager, a touch-screen phone optimized for video. There’s a full QWERTY keyboard, plus a microSD memory slot (microSD cards available in up to 4 GB storage capacity, which will be bumped up to 8 GB next year).
And then there’s the Venus by LG, another music device with two screens, one of which is touch sensitive. It plays VCAST music and certain iTunes songs that are in the unprotected .acc file format. Available colors: Black and pink.
