Looks like Burger King continues to target the gamer crowd. Spotted on the Register’s own Fast Food Maven blog by Nancy Luna this morning, Burger King is teaming up with Mobliss to create downloadable video games for cell phones.
I remember the frenzy last fall when Burger King started selling Xbox video games — the fast-food chain sold 2 million games in a four weeks! The games, featuring the the king with the creepy grin, even got good reviews. I’m sure the $3.99 price tag sucked a lot of people in. (I got mine even though I don’t have an Xbox — yet…)
And I noticed the company maintains the BKGamer.com site. Not sure how Burger King will distribute the mobile games, which typically are downloaded straight from the phone company. I guess this means I won’t have to make a food purchase to get the game…
