Anaheim’s ZyXEL honored in CES Innovations awards

The HomePlug by Anaheim’s ZyXEL Communications Inc. was announced today in New York City as the CES Innnovations 2008 Design and Engineering honoree in the home networking category.

The product honored is the P660HWP, the first all-in-one gateway chip with a built-in HomePlug system. The HomePlug system is a method of connecting to the internet through power lines, without running Ethernet cabling or using wireless internet, that delivers up to 200 megabits per second of throughput.

Products selected as CES Innovations honorees reflect innovative design and engineering among hundreds of entries and are judged based on engineering qualities, intended usage, aesthetic and design qualities, unique feature and its contribution to consumer’s quality of life. During the Jan. 7-10 CES convention in Las Vegas, the HomePlug will be on displayat the Sands Expo and Convention Center/The Venetian.
