Perfected the art of taking care of a Tamagotchi pet? Bandai America, with its headquarters in Cypress, released something just for you last week with the new Tamagotchi Connection V5 in which players take care of a family of virtual pets.
While the Gadgetress never had one of these egg-shaped pets, I sure did. In high school in the late 90’s Tamagotchis were all the rage. A player chooses one of the 65 available Tamagotchi characters and then feeds, cares for and cleans up after the character.
The V5 model lets players raise a Familitchi (a family of three characters) with a theme: the Mames are the intellectuals, the Memes are artistic, Kuchis are laid back and the Violes are cheerful. The V5 also syncs up with TamaTown.com, a Web site of themed worlds and various games and activities.
The Connection V5 costs $14.99 and is available now at all major retailers. The company has more Tama plans with a pedometer, watch and Gotchi Gear line launching in July.
