It’s been five months since I left to work on my Widget and here she is.
So, I’ve had time to think about life and what do I really need. Technology? Hmm … Always checking e-mail, answering my phone while on errands, researching and reviewing gadgets into the wee hours of the night — these can’t be done anymore with my new life. In fact, technology has become a drag.
Do I really need all those gadgets weighing down my handbag? Do I really need to remember a jillion passwords a day? Do I really need to delete another Viagra e-mail that made it past my spam filter?
APRIL FOOLS!
Give up technology? Ya, right. I bought a new laptop while on maternity leave when the Reg took mine away (can you believe it?) I named my kid Widget (yes, no A.F.) I started two personal blogs during my time “off.”
But I have had time to refocus my beat and this blog. It’s inspired by the current economy where gas is heading to $4 a gallon while milk is above $5 a gallon. In these depressing economic times, I feel your pain. I live that pain!
What this world needs, I hope, is a blog focused on frugal tech. One that explores how to save money through technology. Do you really need to buy a new computer or can you just upgrade it? Where are the deals and bargains online? How can you win lots of cool stuff? Where can you get free tech advice from experts?
Right here. I will look for high-tech ways to save. And not just save money, but save you time and the earth. And I’ll be looking for readers suggestions on what they do themselves (so e-mail me).
Welcome to the neo-Gadgetress. Welcome to Alt+Save.
Congratulations on the Widget! I think this revamp is a great thing; it’s a way to stave off genuine tech apathy, which despite the date today happens to the most devoted of us sometimes…!
Aww she is so cute! Congrats Gadgetress!! =)
