How far would you go to win a $5,000 gaming computer from Irvine’s Gateway? Probably not as far as Matt Harris, from Elk Grove, who tattooed his belly with the Gateway logo and signature Holstein cow.

Gateway announced the winners of its “Show Your Spots” contest today. Apparently, the more thrilling, the more points awarded. Also considered: Number of watchers on YouTube, which as of 12:17 p.m. today, “mattharrisboots” had 767 views for his tats trip.

Yes, he really did get a tattoo. In the video, Matt goes to the local tattoo store and films the process. Ouch! He won a Gateway FX540XT plus a 30-inch monitor. Value: $5,000.

There were 38 submissions (see, it’s not so hard to win stuff!) and included another tattoo submission, a cattle rancher sliding through a pile of manure and a New Hampshire teen who polar-beared in the Atlantic Ocean in the winter. Runner-ups won a Microsoft Zune music player and a Gateway flash drive.
