Wii FitNintendo’s Wii Fit balance board for its super-popular Wii game console goes on sale today. But only at the Nintendo World Store in New York.

Nintendo has already sold 2 million Fits in Japan so that’s why the $89.99 game accessory is popping up on eBay (up to $360) and Amazon sellers for outrageous prices ($180 plus $3.99 shipping at one Amazon store).

For us sorry gamers who didn’t pre-order when we had the chance, the actual Wii FitWii Fit goes on sale Wednesday at many local stores without the unnecessary markup. You’ll just have to line up with everyone else.

However, Wal-Mart is still taking pre-orders! And at a 25-cents off, at $89.74. Bonus: It’s offering a $10 Walmart.com gift card for all Wii Fit pre-orders.

I first saw this unique gadget for the Wii game console at the E3 game convention last year. This flat device looks like a white scale because it essentially is — it calculates your weight (oh what fun! It senses movement so if you sway your hips back and forth, you’ll be perfect for the virtual hula-hoop game.

Nintendo’s marketing campaign is targeting fitness fans (see Target’s ad on right) who want to use the Fit for yoga, bumping a soccer ball with your head and other exercises.

Here’s a list of stores with Wii Fits on sale Wednesday, plus other pertinent information:

  • Target stores: Opens at 8 a.m.
  • Toys R Us: Available Wednesday. Also taking $10 off “Wii We Ski” game if you buy the Fit. Details HERE.
  • Circuit City: Advertises that you can get its Gamer Savings Card, for $19.99 a year, you can save 10 percent on future games and accessories.
  • Best Buy
  • GameCrazy
  • GameStop - Limit of two per household
  • KMart
  • Sears – Out of stock online but on sale Wednesday in stores.
  • Costco: Oddly, the company says Wii Fit goes on sale May 28. Usually, Costco offers a discount or a bundle.

If you’re still looking for a Wii, by the way, check out the Wii Tracker at Ben’s Bargains. I just checked and found six available, though only bundled with games.
