Sex in the City, Schmex in the City. If you feel this way, Geek Squad feels your pain, especially if you’re going to be dragged to the theater for the latest on the chick-flick circuit. The Best Buy tech team thinks that guys would much rather be playing arcade games than watching Carrie & friends giggle on the big screen this weekend.

Geek Squad agents will be at movie theaters in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago handing out special packages of excuses, which include four quarters to play the aforementioned arcade games. The excuses are pretty lame:

“Damn it! I specifically asked for three pumps of artificially flavored popcorn.”

And,

“I promised my mom that I’d call her once we got to the theater.”

How about something more creative, like, “I heard Indiana Jones, I mean, Harrison Ford, is in the lobby. I’ll be right back.” Or, “Ack! I just spilled my Coke on my pants. I’ll be right back.” Or what about giving your cell phone number to the Geek Squad agent, who would then call you five minutes into the movie with an emergency?

And then, of course, there’s honesty. Just say you don’t want to go. SATC isn’t really a couples’ movie. More like girlfriends.

But hey, it’s four quarters! Who wouldn’t let their date go play some free arcade games?
