Alt+Save: Deals and freebiesPeople really like lists and I’ve been meaning to compile my own useful list of ways to save money on technology and more. I have yet to do that but in the meantime, I scoured the web to help readers explore the efforts of other list-happy authors. Here they are in no particular order:

Just don’t buy every stupid gadget that comes along.

Dump cable, DSL etc. The money on junk food and electricity saved will be an added benefit.

Don’t buy new electronics just because they are newer and not because the old ones failed.

I save enough on this practice that I can make 2 more mortgage payments a year and not cut my standard of living.

I know a way you can get your cell and your home combined bill down to $69.99 Flat Rate (www.goSpeechPhone.com)

When you combine a T-Mobile Myfaves or Sprint-to-home and your Home Phone with SpeechPhone service, you get a flat rate calling and great voice activated features, 24 hours a day.

Here’s what you need to do:

    T-Mobile Myfaves

    1) Get first a SpeechPhone Unlimited Speech service for $35 per month.

    2) After getting your Speechphone number, get T-Mobile MyFaves 300 for $39.99 per month from a T-Mobile dealer.

    3) Program your T-mobile phone number to become one of your virtual extension in your Speechphone account. The set-up is done at the back office of speechphone website.

    4) Program your Speechphone number to one of your MyFave key on your T-mobile phone.
    _________________________________________________________________________

Total monthly cost = $39.99 + #35 = $74.99 per month (plus taxes and surcharges)

Note: If you have a T-mobile and it is not a Myfaves plan go to your T-mobile dealer and change it to Myfaves 300 plan.

    Sprint to Home

    1) Get first a SpeechPhone Unlimited Speech service for $35 per month.

    2) After getting your Speechphone number, Get Sprint Basic Plan for $29.99 per month plus $5.00 per month Sprint to home and designate your Speechphone number as your home phone number from a Sprint Dealer.

    3) Program your sprint phone number to become one of your virtual extension in your Speechphone account. The set-up is done at the back office of speechphone website.

    4) Program your Speechphone number in your speed dial.
    _________________________________________________________________________

Total monthly cost = $29.99 + $5.00 = $69.99 per month (plus taxes and surcharges)

Note: If you have a Sprint and you don’t have Sprint to home plan go to your Sprint dealer and change it to Sprint Basic Plan and subscribe to Sprint to Home.

Home Phone - Now you get your big savings!

The speechphone account can also be combined with your home phone with no additional cost. This is what you need to do:

    1) Get only the basic plan for your home phone. Cancel your long distance and calling features. Put a block on your long distance so no one will accidentally dial a long distance call.

    2) Program your home phone number to become one of your automatic log-in and virtual extension in your Speechphone account. The set-up is done at the back office of your speechphone website.

    3) Program your speechphone number in your speed dial.

    To make unlimited calls

For flat rate calling you make and receive calls through your SpeechPhone account, this allows you to receive FREE incoming call from your mobile phone. Making calls through SpeechPhone is very simple.

    * Press the key where you programmed your Speechphone number.

    * Answer the call and you will hear “what would you like to do”.

    * –Say “call” and any name in your phonebook.

    * –Or say “dial number” (or press 9) and then number to dial.

Do not use the keypad on the Mobile Phone to make calls otherwise you will use mobile minutes and incur additional charges from T-Mobile or Sprint.

    To receive unlimited calls

With this package you have 3 phone numbers. One is your SpeechPhone number - this is the number that you give out to your callers. The other two phone numbers is your T- mobile or Sprint and your home phone number which you keep private.

Your caller ID displayed should be your Speechphone number in order for you to know that they are calling your speechphone number. The set-up is done at the back office of your speechphone website.
