Apple is offering an update on which stores have phones and which do not. In OC, all five Apple stores have all three types of iPhones available, as of Saturday morning:
Green dots mean it’s all good. Red dots, which are absent from most stores in California, means sold out. Only stores in Chula Vista, Los Gatos, San Luis Obispo and Santa Rosa are sold out (are those stores even open?). Simi Valley is sold out of the 16 GB black iPhone.
Of course, you still may have to wait a long time because activating the iPhone takes longer than you’d think.
Check out your own city by going to Apple’s 3G iPhone finder.
Update from AT&T yesterday is that most stores are out of stock but should be getting more within a few days. Or, if you don’t want to wait around, go to the store and sign up for its Direct Fill service and an iPhone will be ordered just for you. Those are expected to arrive within 7 to 10 days of the order.
