This involves a injury case. My husband got hurt on the job. We went to arbitration and they found it to be 50-50. 50 percent my husbands fault and 50 percent his works fault, and said we don’t have a case. So the attorney has to put in for an appeal. I talked to the attorney to find out whats going on with the case and he said the appeal is pending but that he did get a notice that there will be some sort of pre-argument settlement conference sometime next month. My question to you is ” what does this conference mean, and what is the purpose for it? Please advise. Thank you

i know someone who is being charged with 3rd degree strangulation charges with domestic violence against his girlfriend. She is fine and wants to be with him still and is trying to help him through this process. what needs to happen to keep him out of jail?

I need a case to site in my defense against my ex-husbands request to lower both child support and spousal support. His claim is his decrease in lifestyle and income yet there is no real proof to back this claim, he also claims that I live well above the median of my community in another state that too is not true–am I wrong but isn’t it his burden to show proof of his decline of circumstances? He has a live-in girlfriend with a nice income and his life style has not changed for the worse, it has actually risen above the marrital standard. What is my best defense and are there any cases I can site being that I (as well as he) am pro per due to the fact that I can no longer afford legal councel. Please Help I have court Monday!

I am not in the best marriage…I am lookng to protect my future inhertiance. If I had known, I would have had him sign a pre-nup 20 years ago. Are there any legal documents that can be made, that would protect my inhertiance for myself and my childrens future. I am sure he would sign it.

There are three aptments up in my building being harassed by our manger who is also a tenant as well she is also a convicted felon …..she has came into peoples aptments without knocking or asking and started to yell at the tenants she has threatened to beat up a few called cps on another and has threatened to evict all three apts she is also slandering our name with the owners they will not listen to us for she has told them we are all on drugs …..and we are not her and her girlfriend fight all the time but we cant call the police for fear of getting in trob ourselves ..the last time someone called the police she threatened to bust him in his f-ing mouth in front of the cop when he asked for a card so he could tell the owners about the threat he was told to get in his apt before he was arrested because she told them he was a drug dealer and that was where the prob was coming we do not know what to do please help us

when we bought our house there was a fence already installed. after the land was surveyed we found one corner crosses the boundary line by a small amount ( about a foot). We have been here for more than 5 years now the neifgbor is complaining about the fence line

I am a driver for a well know membership wholesale company. Is it legal, when I do pickup at other companies, for that company to copy down my drivers license information. I was told, by one of the other drivers that his wife work at a company and ask the company attorney if copying our drivers license information was legal, and he said that if was not. Is this true or not?

I had auto body repair work done in April from a previous accident. I opened my hood for the first time (September) to put in some steering wheel fluid and closed the hood. Next day my wife was driving and hood flew open and hood was damaged (wife was okay). I took it to a local body shop guy and he said the hood latch assembly was broken and should have been fixed from the previous repair. What are my options. I feel this was neglect! It was major dealorship that did the repairs and I feel they will tell me it was my fault for not closing it properly (I know how to close a hood!!!).

hello sirs:
ive got a few basic questions about the law. my fiance was arrested for a misdemeanor DUI in July of 2005. The ticket included charges for 1)running a red light 2) driving on a suspended license 3)no insurance 4) dui
all of the charges were dropped; 5 months later, the misdemeanor dui aws upgraded to a felony bcuz the state “discovered” that he didn’t have license at the time of arrest. in the police report, he told officer his license was suspended; this was not a new discovery. however, they indicted him due to the true bill found. let me ask you, CAN THE STATE PROVE THAT HE WAS DRIVING? ALL THOSE DRIVING MISDEMEANORS WERE DISMISSED BACK IN ’05. THERE WAS A PASSENGER IN HIS TRUCK, WATERMELONS WERE STACKED IN THE BED OF THE LIMO TINTED TRUCK. HOW COULD THEY PROVE HE WAS DRIVING? admission, without more, is not reason enough to convict of driving under the influence.
*no blood test was done, only breath test
*i requested cop car video or booking tape- station says there was none recorded.
*ITS LEGAL TO DISMISS THOSE CHARGES, BUT UPGRADE TO FELONY WITHOUT CONVICTION OF DRIVING ON SUSPENDED LICENSE?

*we appreciate any info, or atleast the basic question answered of how the state could, on paper, prove he was driving, in trial.

he is incarcerated, me and his children are almost in need of food; he provided everything for us.
he is not being represented by a lawyer; if you know of one who could get this thrown out for a couple grand, please leave that info too

Tuesday, of this week someone that I know attacked me and robbed me of my cell phone on the property of Southwest Police station (LAPD). I ran into the police station and the officer saw the hair coming out of my hair from which she pulled as well as the blood on my hand that came from her scratching me. I gave the officer her name and later I gave him the vehicle’s vin number and her address. I asked them was there any cameras, they said there weren’t any on that side. They took a report and told me I would have to wait until a detective contacts me. My question is shouldn’t the police department be liable for my injuries and my incident because there weren’t any cameras on that site. I also think it wasn’t handled in an appropriate manner since it happened on their vicinities. Please email me back with an answer. I’ll greatly appreciate it!

i have a friend that lives in russia. she has gotten a visa to come to the U.S. and work. but she says they told her that she had to have 2000 dollars on her to get through customs because she has to have money to live on over here. well i told her i would give her a place to stay and take care of her until she could go to work. so how can i get her over here without having to show customs 2000 dollars for her to get in the U.S.
