AT&T is really trying to put its foot into the video-gaming world. First, it was “Spore.” Today, “Guitar Hero.”
As part of the recent launch of “Guitar Hero World Tour,” AT&T is offering some game love to its subscribers. So if you’re a player and want something free, pay attention.
To get the Guitar Hero World Tour Complete Guitar Game, valued at $100, you’ll need to be a new high-speed Internet customer or new U-verse TV customer.
For mobile customers who purchase “Guitar Hero World Tour Mobile,” available Nov. 14, they can download the first of four exclusive songs for the game during December. The remaining three will be available in early 2009. AT&T customers can download the game to the phone using AT&T MEdia Mall or by texting HERO to 7189.
And for anyone who bothers to enter the contest, AT&T is giving away real instruments so the winner can start his/her own rock band. Winner gets a guitar, bass, drums and a $1,000 gift certificate from Guitar Center.
Where does O.C. comes in? Drums are from the Orange County Drum & Percussion in Santa Ana, while the guitar is from Laguna Guitars in Laguna Beach. Value of the package is $3,700. Just submit an entry at www.att.com/guitarhero.
