Verizon is shooting themselves in the foot by offering services they are unable to deliver. I have received FIOS alerts from Verizon indicating that FIOS service was available in Seal Beach i.e. College Park East. Had my hopes cruelly dashed by unsympathetic customer service representatives who could not explain why I received said alerts when in fact FIOS is so far not available in Seal Beach. I have had 3 mb/sec Verizon DSL for 3 year and cannot complain about the service and or price. However, would definitely jump to an equivalent service if offered before FIOS becomes available. Why should we the customer suffer the self serving motives and timetables of a very large telecommunications company? The equation seems ideal and very clear, verizon offers a service which many patrons desire i.e. FIOS, yet are so caught up in recuperating their installation costs by squeezing the last ounce of advantage before maybe or maybe not providing access in piece meal fashion. They have a very good product, but will alienate and lose many positively predisposed customers by their deceptive and misleading publicity announcements of availability of service in determined areas. Why should we have to take the burden of their installation costs? I am sure there are many firms that are willing and able to provide a superior product without extracting the very last bit of economic leverage. I am at the point now, that although I have been a Verizon customer for many years will go for an alternative service that can deliver on its promises.

Still waiting on FIOS in northern Fountain Valley...

Has Verizon been successful in negotiating with Fountain Valley to provide FIOS to the rest of FV? Does Verizon even plan on providing FIOS to the rest of the city?
