ketchup201 - Are you a premier user? If so, according to Cox's site, you should be getting 20 Mbps with 25 Mbps boost. See for yourself: cox.com/ocpv/highspeedinternet/pricing.asp

I just called Cox and asked about this. I have HSI (High Speed Internet) with powerboost and they verified I get 15Mbps with a boost up to 20Mbps.

So either this article is wrong, or the tech doesn't know what he's talking about.

By all accounts, this is still extremely expensive for internet service. Not to mention that this power boost really is only an advantage to online gamers - The average user will see little to no benefit --That is a fact!
The problem being that if you on a Cox package (cable+internet+phone) and want to downgrade one of the services to save money, they tell you it will end up costing you more because all services will be pieced out rather than bundled.
The cities need to redo their contracts with Cox so the residents can pick and choose what they want and still save money. Maybe you want the top cable package, but only need mid-level internet service for example.

I called Cox to downgrade my internet service from Premium to the next lower service ($44.95) and they offered me the Premium service for $49.99 for 6 months. The rep also gave me his name and extension and told me to call him at the end of the 6 months and he would extend the offer at that time.
