Possibly in response to Cox boosting its Internet speeds, I got a note from Time Warner Cable that it, too, has increased the download speeds for its ‘Turbo’ Internet customers.
Speeds are now 50 percent faster at 15 Mbps, up from 10 Mbps. All cities should now see the improvement except Fullerton, where the upgrade should be completed by the “middle of first quarter next year,” says Fred Stefany, president of Time Warner’s Orange County operation.
Being a Time Warner Turbo customer myself, I had to test it out and check it out: 20 Mbps!
This upgraded speed is free to subscribers of its Turbo Internet service, which costs around $57 as a standalone service.
Even at 15 Mbps, this puts Time Warner in 4th place when it comes to fastest Internet service in Orange County. Verizon’s FiOS Internet is 50 Mbps, Cox Cable’s Premier package is 20 Mbps and AT&T’s U-verse service is 18 Mbps. However, not all services are available in all of Orange County.

I got the free trial. It makes no difference at all.
It’s all an illusion!! They can not do anything about their service, cuz they will always suck! I don’t know which is worse… customer service, internet or cable? All of it!
Just an FYI, the reason you got 20 is probably because of the powerboost. If you do an extended download it will average out to about 15 Mbps. But hey your powerboost is working, that’s good to see!
i dont see that big of a change when loading webpages but i see a huge change in actual downloading a file speeds when it was at 10mbps i max out a download at 1.212 mbps downloadbut now i get a firm 2mbps download..

jor88 — You got 21 Mbps (21,291 kbps = 20.8 mbps) … FYI: Time Warner Internet has been having a rough week. My download speeds were very slow in recent days. Lots of complaints in SoCal… – Gadgetress
for most this will not matter. Sure it will speed up some pages but the reality is that most downloads speeds are dependent on the upload speed of the website you are downloading from. It also depends on the type of network card you have in your computer and the speed of your router.
It’s really weird. I am signed up for Road Runner standard (6 mbps), but I am getting performance of 22 mbps. My internet speeds automatically point to San Diego even though Los Angeles is closer.
