who exactly is getting uverse in costa mesa??? i'm getting a "service unavailable" message for my apartment complex near harbor and baker. when i try other random complexes around CM, none show it as available. i've even tried random home addresses just south of south coast plaza, the area described by the poster above. the lady on the phone said it's not available at my address, but i've also heard of them dropping the ball on people in other areas (i.e., some people get it, some don't within the same condo complex). so who in the heck is getting service in CM??? i hate TWC!!

Hey all... Hope its OK to repost and update on this thread. Not trying to hijack thread but inform. ATT Uverse installed today. ATT installer was polite, considerate and knowledgeable. Considerate to call 2x before coming by , once to est arrival and again to announce arrival. 9 out of 10... Not a perfect score because unknown to me he left one wire connection for me to re-crimp. The connector issue was discussed and I have a background in IT, would have used my own crimp tool but is was worn too ;o(. Internet awesome 10Mbs as promised, phone clear as a bell, TV clearer/faster than our SAT provider. I would recommend to neighbor easy. So nice to be away from the old 3Mbs internet. Rumor from ATT sales tech, they are rolling this out slow due to cost (boxes are 800K each) and complexity (I recall it took 6mo or so for them to update our area). Joy! Bye... /cf

I'm so STOKED! Sorry for shouting but copper infrastructure in Costa Mesa has been slow, unpredictable and expensive for anything above 3Mbps., not to mention common static on phone lines. To see an ATT salesperson come to our house (south of South Coast Plaza) was like an unopened Xmas gift! Now I'm researching, will I lose/gain TV channels? What about installation quality? DishNetwork Sat is expensive imho for what I'm getting and the quality is no good. Plus they dropped Voom Networks back in May 2k8 so I read on WWW, DishNetwork reps wont even discuss it with me, could be due to the legalities. Plus my contract is expired!! Thing is we have a bitter sweet history with ATT and package tech services. Back 5+ yrs ago ATT was bundling services and we had a nightmare. VoiP was horrible and our ph mailbox was reset twice causing me to lose an important business deal at the time. Thing is the infrastructure was copper then and I've seen the ATT trucks updating the service access point boxes for our neighborhood for some time now. I'm going to look real good before I leap again. Combined service would be an awesome savings. 10Mbp down! w00t! Sorry if I ranted I'm excited after 5yrs to maybe move away from all copper to our CO. May I polite request others to share on the install and QoS they recieve if thats appropriate? I'd be much obliged. Thx all-- Cie

Located near Lincoln Blvd. and East Street in East Anaheim. U-Verse and FIOS are both unavailable here according to the address checks.

Currently have Time Warner and hate it. Its slow and the upload is barely enough to keep my vOIP service going and that doesn't use much bandwidth at all! 400kbps up is the max.

Warning. Do not Buy AT&T U-Verse.

It is a piece of Garbage!!!!

We just had it installed today 12/16/08 and are having it removed tomorrow.

The installation was a nightmare. Our email does not work and the TV System is very very Bad.

AT&T's door-to-door salesman sold us on it and we fell for his phone promises. Then the installation guy did not know what he was doing. Now we can't wait to get it Un-Installed and back to our previous system.

AT&T is a scam. Do not Buy into it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have AT&T fiber optic cable in front of my building. I'm in Tustin. We have received advertising but we still can't get U-Verse. It's frustrating. Time Warner is expensive and has poor quality service. I don't understand why AT&T is rolling this out so slowly. It makes one wonder if they are only offering to high end neighborhoods. Sort of red lining. At this point I understand only the Tustin Ranch area of Tustin has it available.

Buena Park at La Palma and Dale does not have U-Verse available - so they obviously must be offering the service to a small select area of BP.

Just checked and it's still not available here at the Village at Irvine Spectrum. I guess the monopoly that is the Irvine Company is still colluding with Cox. Very frustrating!

We had U-Verse installed a little over a month ago and it is fantastic. We previously utilized Time Warner, however, AT&T is less expensive and offers much more. I'd suggest anyone in the areas where the service is provided, do yourself a favor and check it out. You won't be sorry.
