I made the mistake of buying one of Meade's telescopes and I will tell you JUNK. Dont buy into the fluff, they even lost my telescope and had to replace it after 8 weeks of fighting with them. Ya! They laid off the most of the staff in Irvine, moved production and customer service to Mexico. Also, they have a continuing bad reputation for customer service/support on their products. Plus the company's survival is in doubt with its financial problems (including very low stock value).
