What we all need: A Minoru (3D webcam)

January 7th, 2009, 7:12 am · Post a Comment · posted by Tamara Chuang, a.k.a. The Gadgetress

Just looking at this photo makes me dizzy:

At top is Minoru, a new 3D webcam from the U.K. With two “eyes,” Minoru’s cameras are roughly the same distance apart as a person’s eyes. Meld those two video captures together and you’ve got the makings of 3D video. The company provided 3D glasses and if I concentrated hard enough, I did feel like I was watching a bad 3D movie.

Five pairs of 3D glasses are included with each Minoru (which means “reality” in Japanese) . The webcam is now available on preorder from Amazon for $89.95. Orders, according to Amazon, take 1 to 2 months to ship.

Lots more info available on Minoru’s Web site.
