Now that I’m back from the fun ol’ Consumer Electronics Show, I’m catching up with all the TV news that happened. And unfortunately, I did not get to this one earlier. Remember my post about Time Warner raising prices for us customers in Orange County (and Los Angeles)?
One little footnote in the new prices was something called the “Addressable Change of Service Fee,” (click image on right to enlarge) a new $2.99 fee. About a week after I asked for more information, Time Warner’s Darryl Ryan responded with an explanation: It’s a one-time transaction fee charged to customers who downgrade service.
Too bad he didn’t respond before the new year started!
I know customers won’t be happy about this one. But I guess even Time Warner is losing money and trying to figure out ways to make some more.
Past Time Warner Cable stories on Gadgetress:
Another reason I am glad I dumped T-W when they took over Paragon.
Instead of Time Warner we should all dump them for a more creditable information sheet, The Communist Times,.

Totally Worthless Crap!
Come on Ala-Cart!!!
Except for a total of 3 shows, that I only get to watch every now and then
because certain family member hogs the tv when here–I have found I managed quite well without a tv or cable.
Wonder what TW will do when I cut ties with them completely and move out of state?
Everyone says we should just drop TW, and I agree. But, where I am located they are my only option. I cant get a dish ( No access point for the dish to be pointed at the satellite ) and Verizon Fios is not available.
What are some other options in regard to high speed internet and cable ?
Yeah, I have Dish and they do the same thing. I think they charge 5.99. It surprised me at the time, but I guess they are all moving towards this policy.
Drop TW and start and start Verizon. I have not had no problems with
Verizon and am going to stay happy with there service and friendly people. Very much unlike TW. Microsoft gave me big problems with there Windows Internet Explorer but there good people and fix’ed it.
TW is the only station to have mexican comercials, bad crap and bad unfriendly people.
