We have never been able to watch a VOD movie on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night because of pixilation/break-up. Video on Demand is the only reason we even have cable. Technicians have been out and changed everything but their underwear, to no avail. It is obviously a server/bandwidth problem, but in a YEAR of calling in problems and dealing with customer service, no one in engineering/management has bothered to step-up. I guess they don't need our business, so we're taking our multiple-set-top-box-using, internet-router-renting, home-phone-service selves over to the competition. Several weeks ago I was watching a college football game on a network channel. With at least one more quarter of the game to be played, the channel suddenly switched to a half-hour paid commercial broadcast. Yes, the game was available on a higher channel, but by the time I found out what channel it was on, I missed several key plays. Keep it up, Time Warner. Don't give a hoot about your viewers. I'm glad I don't have HD with its attendant problems. No break up or digital goofs on Sunday evening. Try not looking a gift horse in the mouth for a change. By the way...my picture in Costa Mesa has been great and when it has not been my service with Time Warner has been superior. Perhaps I'm just luck\y. Just watched Hellboy2 for a penny. My wife wanted to see Mama Mia, so we cracked a bottle of wine, and I turned on Movies on Demand, selected Mama Mia as one of the 1 cent movies offered and we started to watch. After about 40 minutes the movie just froze. Of course I was never able to access it again. In the past few months I have been having increasingly more problems with them. I will likely make a move in a few weeks after I decide to which system/company I want to switch. So I'll be saying goodbye to Time Warner. I have had Time Warner cable since the 80′s. They try to not even talk to their customers by putting a recorded message on the line saying there is trouble in the area and to be patient. They tried to tell me that it was the whole Los Angeles area. I expressed disbelief and demanded they connect me to a test board technician in the local office. They tested my line, confirmed the problem, and told me that it was the whole LA area. Unbelievable. Unfortunately, there are only a few players left in the broadband market. It is too bad there is virtually no competition. Write your congressperson and tell them that you support regulation. If we can't have competition, they must be regulated. I use TWC for Internet. I have had problems with their system in the past and I haven't used it since. This weekend just pointed out they still aren't ready for primetime with the video on demand.
