Major League Soccer's "Direct Kick" TV package.New channel alert: Verizon’s FiOS TV added Major League Soccer’s “Direct Kick” package, which includes all 225 games of the regular season, the All-Star Game and select MLS Cup playoffs. There are also regional broadcasts of regular-season games, plus pre-game/post-game footage not available on national brodcast channels.

True soccer fans probably won’t blink at the price: $64 for the 2009 season. That includes five standard-definition channels on 1495 to 1499.

The MLS package is also available to DirecTV and Dish Network subscribers for $79.

This is supposed to be a selling point? More soccer? BORING…

Sigh, crawl back into your hole, monolingual American.

It would be better if it was bundled with GolTV, or something else, the MLS just doesn’t have the selling power that FiOS might think it does.
