Good article BUT it really really irks me when people consider knowing what your children are doing "spying." That is what is wrong with our society today. Kids are out of control because somewhere in the past 20 years we started putting unrestricted privacy and self-esteem boosting above the basics of parenting. We have decided that rater than have rules and enforce them, it's better and easier to just talk to our kids... but kids are not mature enough to interpret and understand the 'lessons' you try to teach them by just talking. That's why there are rules. If kids aren't raised with rules, but instead pumped full of "you are the best", they will be in for a rude awakening when they enter real life. And now everyone runs to the government to help, but then turns around and cries about freedoms being infringed.

If every parent would just grab their sack and act like a parent rather than a 'buddy', cyberbullying would decrease and internet predators would have no chance.

It's not spying; it's KNOWING what your child is doing on the internet - a place where they can interact with anyone in the world, and anyone can interact with them. If you are putting their BS right to privacy before being an informed parent, you have no chance.
