Good news for DirecTV sports fans: The satellite TV service is bringing back VERSUS, a sports channel that viewers lost last summer when owner Comcast and DirecTV failed to come to an agreement. As with these sorts of deals, details were disclosed.
The channel, known for bull riding, hockey and college football, returns today, DirecTV announced. It will resume where it left off in August. It remains in the same TV plan offered to customers.

Maybe I’m off topic here, but I just wanted to let you know that I, just me, think your column is among the best out here. Though I’m not in California, in Illinois, I regularly consult what you write. Excellent work!
Due to the lack of comments on this entry, It would be safe to say no one missed Versus.
No one that can also read. I tuned in Monday, oh yay, Nascar followed by bull riding.
I missed Versus because of NHL hockey, though my Ducks had no games televised there this season. At least I won’t have to go to a sports bar to see hockey when the playoffs arrive next month. I did manage to wrangle a couple of free movie packages from DirecTv over it though.
most people are not even aware of versus…but a lot of people are aware of fox sports and prime ticket…when is directv going to have these channels?
They do.
Go figure they are bring back Versus after the NHL playoffs, that makes a whole lot of sense. Versus should be band from broadcasting NHL games. Just comcast trying to get its way with Direct TV.
