AT&T confirms wireless ‘disruption’ today

March 25th, 2010, 5:05 pm · 13 Comments · posted by

FYI: For Orange County AT&T mobile users who had unusually spotty service today, it’s all been fixed, the company said.

“Due to an equipment issue earlier this afternoon, some area AT&T customers may have experienced wireless service disruption. AT&T technicians resolved the issue at approximately 3:45 p.m. PT. We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers,” said the company.

I’m not an iPhone or AT&T customer, but I heard that some people had major issues with 3G Internet today. If issues continue, let me know.

maybe they will change their name back to cingular again. can’t wait for 4g lol

    • Doris says:

They can’t change their name back to Cingular because they sold that network to T-Mobile and bought the SBC Network and became ATT.

I just got my iphone and had to make the switch to At&t. So this was wonderful and exciting. It’s the icing on the cake, the cake being the number of people who said they called me but I never received a record of it. No missed calls, nothing. Oh well, I’m still within the cancellation timeframe.

My wife and I had issues up in Long Beach. I was in Belmont shores and the wife was up in N/W Long beach. Cell reception was fine but no 3G or Edge. My Co-worker with a 562 area code was OK. My 714 were off line for about 4 hours.

    Lots of drop calls today…

  • Jim Norton says:

It would be nice if At&t would send out a text or something to there customers after this was fixed. And let them know you may have missed calls.

I was waiting for an important call that never came…. If I knew service was out I would have used other contact info.

Today was this first day since I got my iPhone two years ago that I have ever had a problem. Glad they were able to fix it so quick. It’s very rare to have less than 5 bars even when I’m inside. Today, I simply turned 3G off and my phone connected right to Edge. So cool and easy.

I had Verizon before and they had an outage that lasted three days a few years back.

My IPhone started acting funny since last night, 3/24, internet kept saying server not connected, and dropped calls

  • Ty says:

My phone is still messed up and everyone in my house who has ATT (5 ppl) still have spotty coverage.

When is the AT&T exclusive with the Iphone ending? AT&T’s service will improve with competition.
