Tamara Chuang has covered local tech businesses and other tech trends for The Orange County Register since July 2000.
In the middle of 2004, she pitched a column to not only boost coverage of the numerous Orange County gadget companies but help her learn more about how the technology works. Thus, the Gadgetress was born, though it didn’t launch until February 2005. The accompanying blog, however, debuted a month earlier with coverage of the annual gadget fest, the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Tamara continues to write about local companies in the video game, computer, cell phone, Internet and other tech industries. Catch her gadget review column each Tuesday or, of course, check her blog daily.
The story behind the wacky photos: When I pitched The Gadgetress, I wanted a fun, anime-inspired mug. But upper management frowned on the idea and insisted a real mug be used for columnists. So, I gave the camera my best real mugs! – Tamara
